If you hear rattling or bubbling sounds from your cooler, the noise may originate from air bubbles trapped in the cooling loop, especially inside the pump. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Try the following steps below to clear out the air bubbles.
Step 1: Isolate the Source of the Noise
- Turn off or unplug the fans: Alternatively, set your fans to 0% duty cycle to eliminate fan noise and focus on the cooler pump.
- Listen carefully: If the rattling or bubbling persists after the fans are turned off, the sound may come from air bubbles inside the pump.
Step 2: Clear Air Bubbles from the Cooling Loop
- Check the pump's position: Ensure the pump is not the highest point in the loop. The radiator should be higher, allowing air bubbles to collect in the radiator rather than the pump.
-
Gently tilt your PC:
- Tilt the system forward and backward to help dislodge and move the air bubbles through the cooling loop.
-
Run the pump at high performance:
- Set the pump to "Extreme" mode and allow it to run for at least an hour. This will help push air bubbles out of the pump chamber.
-
Rotate the PC for further clearing:
- If bubbling noises persist, gently rotate your PC 45 degrees in various directions while the pump runs to shift the bubbles.
Step 3: Additional Precautions
- Disable hard drives: To prevent damage to traditional spinning hard disk drives (HDDs) in your PC, disable them before tilting or moving them during operation.
